Sweco UK & Ireland achieves ISO19650 certification from the BSI

We are delighted to announce that Sweco UK & Ireland has achieved BSI business certification to ISO19650. This demonstrates that the appropriate processes, workflows, knowledge, and skills are in place across the business to deliver projects effectively and meet the recognised international standard that existing and new clients require.

We spoke to Craig Hardingham, Digital Technical Director in Infrastructure to find out more about the process for achieving this and what it means for our clients…

What did we have to do to achieve this certification?

“To achieve this certification, we created a unified centralised set of standards, processes and templates that aligned with ISO19650 requirements that our teams use in their project delivery. We were also able to demonstrate that we have the knowledge, skills, and competency across the business to deliver projects in line with ISO19650 for our clients.”

How does this certification enhance our offering and delivery of multi-disciplinary services?

“This certification demonstrates that we have a unified approach across the business in delivering projects against the ISO19650 international standards.”

What does it mean for our clients?

“Our clients can be assured that the British Standards Institution (BSI) have audited and certified Sweco UK and Ireland to have the knowledge, skills, capability, standards, and processes to deliver their projects in line with ISO19650. The certificates are available to support project bids and pre-qualification questionnaires that require evidence of this.”

ISO 19650 certification is an excellent achievement that demonstrates Sweco UK’s adoption of internationally recognised standards for Information Management. Although it is merely one step in our digital maturity journey and roadmap, it is an essential step that addresses and celebrates our Sweco cornerstones well.

Large private and public sector construction tenders increasingly stipulate that organisations require ISO 19650 certification to qualify for their frameworks. Certification affirms that Sweco UK applies best practices throughout design, engineering, construction, and asset management. It also enables cost reductions through enhanced efficiency.
